Strangely Dwarven

mixed medium, pen on paper
Slow day at the headshop. No piercing appointments scheduled, no walk-ins, very few customers at all, save for the regulars who showed up to buy "Water Pipes," "Incence Burners," or "Jewelry Baggies". I had a spiral notebook, and a handful of hours before I could go home, barbecue alone in the middle of the night, maybe even pour a shot before bed. My mind wandered, and thankfully, conversation with Elena that seemed more like hanging out than working in a shop carried me through the day as I sketeched away, first in pencil with ellipses, then with pen -almost to prove a point that THIS is what I was seeing as I scribbled messy smudgey scrawls with the pencil lines. I held it at arm's length and stood next to Elena when I was done. "Now that," I explained as though it were important, "is a dwarf."
